Myth 1: Ceramic Pro Coatings prevent Rock Chips and Scratches
Although Ceramic Coatings give your paint a hard layer of protection, this layer is not immune to rock chips and paint scratches. It is resistant, however. Whether your car is Ceramic Coated or not, we highly recommend never:
Taking your car through a touch car wash.
Using a dirty rag to wipe your car.
Wiping a dirty car with your hand or a rag.
Putting a car cover over your car after driving it without washing your car first.
Myth 2: The Upkeep of a Ceramic Pro Coating is High Maintenance
Ceramic Pro coatings should be hand washed every once in a while to remove surface dirt and contaminants from the vehicle. Ceramic Coatings can go long periods of time without being washed, but that doesn't mean they're maintenance-free. We perform annual maintenances on Ceramic coated cars, and they come at a very modest $150 per session.
Myth 3: You do not need to wash your car ever again after a Ceramic Pro coating.
The whole point of a Ceramic Coating is to make your car easy to maintain. A basic two-bucket hand wash will get your Ceramic Coated car very clean, and take a fraction of the time compared to a non-coated car. This is because the Ceramic Coating is creating a non-stick layer on your paint, meaning dirt and grime aren't sticking as much. You do not need to reapply the coating to get these results long term.
